Bunch of side-characters and their plotlines got abandonded. The whole age-gap romance premise gets dropped after episode 9 without explanation. that was a letdown... i have no problem about them being not together, but the rest literaly abrupt and unsatisfying.... oh god deemed... i thought that it will have an "original" or "strange" ending or at least an ordinary "romantic" one, but no... it ended up very stupid (for me). with the after the rain's blue summer sky.

Keep warm this winter season with the latest anime info at MANGA.TOKYO! The last three episodes feel like they happen after a time-skip worthy of full 2nd cour. After the Rain could have stood to be more ambitious. I am not trying to talk bad about anime, because I have been a fan for most of my life and love them by heart, but this is a very classic situation. A bit disappointed that there was no proper conclusion to the side characters, but aside from that it was beautiful. We see some interaction between the two of them, see once again how much Yui likes Yoshizawa and in the end we even see that he has taken a liking to her as well and probably forgot all about Akira.

Its chapters were compiled into ten tankōbon volumes. All in all it was a cute show and I enjoyed watching it. I knew they wouldn’t get together (The age gap and how the society will think of them) but to realize that all this time it wasn’t real love but rather a comforting for Akira.
Even I fell in love with her after getting to know her better.

Could there be further romance in the future?

She showed selfishness, as she thought her relationship between herself and her Track teammate and once-close friend Haruka is not the same anymore.

It was a cute ending, but what did she decide? After the Rain however, was a masterstroke from beginning to end.

I watch it and enjoy it, but it's not going to win any awards. There are prestigious ones, better known ones and the ones go just ‘get into’ if you failed all other entrance exams and don’t want to wait a year to re-take the exam (or if your parents don’t allow you to wait another year…). Some companies even go so far as only hiring students from a certain university, because they tend to be smarter or because they have had good experiences with those students.

He grew a bit, didn’t he? Thanks for the post, I was really curious about the ending! Whatever it is, it did not make me jump in joy with the last episode, but it was still a nice adventure.

Since we are already talking about jobs, the same goes for universities. By no means is she perfect, though. It's always a beautiful thing, seeing a man meeting the person he will spend his laifu with. I see Kondo as progressing little towards his writing, but to the extent he does, it was because of his relationship with Chihiro, not Akira. "I hate Loli's being sexualize in animes and you should too".

When Akira taught him to run he was so cute and at first I thought it would be his determination that will make Akira start running again, but then they made this cute little trick where he teaches her the words his father taught him. (Well, almost everything.).

well that's a really realistic and depressing way to end it.

Even her scar running along her Achilles tendon enhances her beauty because that one displeasing blemish on her makes the rest of her that much more beautiful. Tencho’s son is back! At least show us if she actually decided to do rehabilitation! I'm not just talking about her tall, slender physique matched with her luscious long hair, frosty indigo eyes, and stylish but humbling wardrobe, but her whole presentation throughout the anime. Makes the series seem like a complete waste of time then. Yes!! If you go to a good university you will probably find a better job.

All of this makes me wonder if Akira is struggling to find her balance in life. It wasn't as climatic as I was expecting. I wouldn't change a single thing. "Love Is Like After the Rain") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Jun Mayuzuki. Remember Kase? I’m happy to see that Kondo is gradually going back to writing, and Akira rekindling the great friendship she and Haruka once shared.

I hate This ending i know that kondo is old and tachibana is Young but even with all the problems they could get i wanted them to BE together. Press Room

We saw her staring at the phamplet and thinking back to the time she and Haruka promised to feel the wind at school.

The last episode of After the Rain aired and even though there was all kinds of build up last week, the final 25 minutes with Akira and Tencho were strangely…sobering. In any case, this was the highlight of the whole episode and it was drawn so pretty, I can forgive them for other things I wasn’t too happy with. Both Akira and Kondo satisfied their love: Akira for running, and Kondo for writing (also the author confirmed in her blog, that the "koi" in the title was about their passions, not romantic love between them).

Is she still in love with Tencho? Users of MANGA.TOKYO must abide by copyright law and refrain from reproducing images and articles from the site except for personal use. He didn’t give a damn about Akira or her feelings for Tencho in the end, even though he was trying so hard in the beginning to go on a date with her and blackmail her.

Honestly, IMO, Akira is one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, anime character I've seen thus far. I only watch this for tachibana, And not the ship. Since there was the moment where they talked about future career paths I thought maybe Akira would make a good trainer. This was in no way a positive ending at all, as Kondo looks at the sky like the sparrow he mentioned earlier. If that is indeed the ending then I have to say that I am really not surprised. What happens with the other two, Yui and Yoshizawa, does that go any further or more detail? ©2020 All Rights Reserved. Anyway, he is okay this way". So, the raws for the final chapter (chapter 82) of the manga just posted online today. He seemed so much more mature already. Early on there are meetings with students and their parents to see if their dream is realistic or not and what they would have to change or improve if they want to attend a certain university etc.
It shouldn't have ended any other way though. Both of them, grew up in different childhoods in terms of passion, but had their own moments of frustration, anger, happiness, and possibly long moments of stagnation in their life relative to their overall current age. During the anime, it already became very clear that this is more about their inner turmoils. I really liked Kondou because he's an incredibly gentle but sensible man. It does seem to bother her. Akira still has some friends at school, even if it’s not Haruka, and while she keeps pretending that she doesn’t miss running, she soon has to decide on her future path and career. Akira probably would die from happiness if she knew about this scene…. Is it because Japan is just like that? I read the last chapter as described above, where Akira forgets and Kondo doesn't. Support It seems like some time has passed since the fight Akira had with Tencho because the breath of Haruka starts to fog in the air and Tencho needs a heater while he is sitting at home and writing. I'm with you, not exactly disappointed for me, but it just that the last few episodes basically dictated the end.

This kind of normal relationship was needed in the story and I would even go as far as wish for a spin-off with these characters. I am a bit disappointed that Kase just randomly…stopped? Was that code for ‘I will do rehabilitation and then we can run again’? Probably not as a man, because it was a simple hug, but he loves her as a human and wants her to be happy. While i've enjoyed every single episode of the show, looking at it as a whole, they've totally botched series structure. Like, did anyone think the ending would be different? I mean, two characters at the crossroads of their lives. Akira, in the manga, is simply using Kondo, and I think he had enough of it. It’s then that Yuto tells her the words his father taught him: It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, as long as you get up again…. I wish they had never had any of the love elements at all. The last episodes are hardly ever living up to the hype they create at the end. Oh, well, the anime didn't end up that much further iirc, however, it's sad what you all guys said that Tachibana didn't quite love him whereas he did. Not his mother, no, it was Tencho who told him it is fine to fail, as long as you get up again and finish what you were doing.

Last but not least, the resolve with Akira everything else but satisfying. They didn't end being with each other thank goodness im so happy Woow the cringe is gone.

Meh, have to say I wasn't happy with the ending, either anime or manga. Stress. So deciding on your career path early is essential in Japan, and teachers are there to try and help the students. It is stressful and way too early, because how can you know what you want to be when you are older at the young age of 15? In fact, i think whoever planned the anime adaptation was thinking about cross-medium synergy (boosting manga sales right as it was ending) first and foremost.I'd still recommend this series to anyone for its beautiful visuals, non-verbal storytelling and subtle humor, but it turned out to be less than i was expecting. The way the camera zooms into her piercing eyes, the way the breeze of wind blows through her hair, the way she blushes and reacts to the atmosphere surrounding her, the semi-intimate-but-more-familial relationship she shares with her manager, Kondo, and the soft-spoken words that exit through her innocent heart and soul...all of that makes her incredibly beautiful.
