Most of the Harlequin movies I have seen are excellent and this is no exception.

From deep love stories to light RomComs, these romantic movies are ready and waiting. That’s the premise of this Charlie Kaufman-penned, Michel Gondry-directed science fiction romantic drama.

It might sound like familiar romcom territory, and it is, but it’s done so well and in such a relaxed manner that you don’t mind any retreading.

Martin Henderson, who starred as Dr. Nathan Riggs on the primetime soap, has landed an exciting lead role in the new romantic drama.

Netflix stocks the month with a brilliant quintet of modern-day classics, perfect for a night at home on the couch. Since 1998, DVD Netflix has been the premier DVD-by-mail rental service. Emma Sams is beautiful and warm, and Bruce Greenwood is handsome and winning; he has that certain magnetic spark that he always brings to his roles. They seem to have a lot more passion than the Hallmark movies on tv. I don't usually care for this type of movie but I watched it because Bruce Greenwood starred in it. The casting is also ace: Lana Condor is excellent as protagonist Lara Jean, while Noah Centineo ticks all the teen heartthrob boxes.

Many shows await viewers in the new year, and here is hoping this will be one of them. Martin Henderson and Alexandra Breckenridge should have no trouble bringing their characters' potential romance to life. I have dozens of romance movies on VHS from the mid and late 1980s and in the process of replacing them with DVDs since VHS will fade. While it plays up to some tropes – awkward but attractive girl and school’s hottest jock pretend to date only for the pair to fall desperately in love – the central premise feels unique and relatable.
